Blue Compass Camps is very excited to announce that we our now officially a 501(c)3 Non-Profit. Our goal is to provide a wilderness/camp experience for any child or young adult with Autism, Aspergers or ADHD and not only those that have the financial means. Going into our third season with Blue Compass Camps we feel blessed to have had the majority of your children participate in our programs for multiple years. We look forward to new trips locations and “old standards” again for 2016. We have had such great feedback about your child's time spends with their peers on a Blue Compass Camps trip/camp, and the strong impact that has had for both the child and the parents on their return home.

We feel with our change to Non-Profit 501 (C)3 status, Blue Compass Camps has the opportunity to:

  1. Provide more scholarships to children and young adults with Autism, Aspergers and ADHD.
  2. Hire more staff, including a medical professional on all of our wilderness trips.
  3. Upgrade our wilderness equipment and purchase a 15 passenger van.
  4. Provide our staff with paid advanced wilderness training; including Wilderness First Aid, Advanced Swiftwater Rescue and NOLS Professional Instructor Courses.
  5. Expand our trip offerings, including International Travel in the future.

1 in 68 children born in the United States are currently diagnosed with autism. At Blue Compass Camps we look at this staggering number as a challenge to introduce more children to nature, provide them with effect communication tools, establish friendships through close peer interactions and enhance their social awareness and skills. With your generous contributions, Blue Compass Camps can provide this camp environment for more kids and young adults.
