Ranch Camp

“All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.” -Calvin Coolidge

Our most traditional of camps, Ranch Camp takes place on a horse ranch in sunny Cle Elum, Washington.  About an hour and a half East of Seattle, Flying Horseshoe Ranch is a magical and memorable place that makes you feel as if you have just stepped back 100 years in time. Horse rides range from riding around the arena to taking a trail ride as campers develop their riding skills and comfort level. Love the idea of Ranch Camp but don’t want to ride a horse? Not a problem, there are plenty of other activities as well – day and night hikes, field games, work projects, making hand-cranked ice cream, morning chores, cookouts, art projects, and campfires. And of course, let’s not forget, the swimming pool.  Older campers will learn the value of work by receiving a small daily pay for work projects done around the farm. Campers sleep in either rustic cabins or teepees (see details below) and work as a member of a cook crew to learn how to prepare food and clean up at meal time. Ranch Camp provides a phenomenal opportunity to make friends, learn a ton, and spend five days living and working on one of the most beautiful ranches in Washington.
